Lane Mathis is a cinematographer and documentary filmmaker based in Denver, Colorado.
Equal parts filmmaker and athlete, he has produced images in some of the harshest terrain the world has to offer. Most notably, he documented an expedition to the Karakoram in Pakistan which resulted in a 17,000ft peak, filmed for 28 hours during the “Leadville 100” Ultra Marathon, and documented the development of a new 2,000ft climb on Colorado’s “Painted Wall” in the Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
Outside of adventure documentary, he has an affinity for human interest stories and an ever-growing curiosity for the individual, believing that “who we are defines what we do.”
Originally from Missouri, Lane left home at 19 to join the United States Air Force and served honorably before receiving an education at Colorado Film School with an emphasis in cinematography, post production, and writing.
